This is the New Orleans branch of the nationwide organization, ACEing Autism. ACEing Autism aims to teach tennis to children with autism in order to help them to build their social skills, hand-eye coordination, and motor development through a fun sport. The sessions aim to keep the participants engaged and active while providing a positive atmosphere for them to express themselves. No prior tennis experience or prior experience working with children with ASD required.
Elementary Outreach Club (ELMO)
The purpose of the Elementary Outreach Club is to provide elementary students in the area with opportunities to participate in STEM activities, and to provide faculty, staff, and students at Tulane the opportunity to volunteer with elementary children.
After-School Newcomb Tutoring (ANT)
After-School Newcomb Tutoring (ANT) provides free tutoring to students in pre-K through 8th grade on Tulane's campus. Students are paired with the same Tulane student tutor each week to foster a relationship between the tutor and the student.
Roots of Music Academic Tutoring
Roots of Music Academic Tutoring provides tutoring and mentorship for the youth participating in the Roots of Music Program. Roots of Music empowers the youth ages 9-14 for low income households of New Orleans through music education, academic support, and mentorship, while preserving and promoting the unique musical and cultural heritage of New Orleans. No prior music experience is needed as we help the students with their homework for school. We will be doing online virtual tutoring this semester.
After School Allies (ASA)
We are a club dedicated to visiting Phillis Wheatley Community school in Mid-City every week to volunteer in the after school enrichment program. After School Allies are mentors, create friendships, play games, and hang out with the students.
